UBC Professor Emeritus as of 2011. His focused deployment of digital media in architecture was demonstrated in contributions to all levels of design studio teaching, practice and research. Early ground-breaking work on distributed collaborative design, published broadly as VDS [Virtual Design Studio], evolved and contributed to the sensibility of the School. His recent work is situated at the intersection of mechatronics and architecture, where kinetic aspects of design together with basics of robotics are applied to responsive architecture forecasting the emergence of a field of architectronics in design. While retaining design research links with SALA community Prof. Wojtowicz teaches now at the Faculty of Architecture, Warsaw University of Technology. Last year he was appointed to his second professorship by the President of Poland.
