Kris Fox, is a registered landscape architect in California and an assistant professor in the department of landscape architecture. He teaches in both the graduate Landscape Architecture program and the undergraduate Environmental Design program.  He received his Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University.

Fox previously held visiting teaching positions at Cornell University (in both City and Regional Planning and Landscape Architecture) and at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He has taught a range of design studios, materials and construction classes, advanced graphics and urban design.  

As a practicing landscape architect, Fox worked with California firms that pushed design and experimentation with materials, including Land Studio in Berkeley and Marta Fry Landscape Associates in San Francisco.  He also worked as a planner / urban designer with the City of Oakland’s Community and Economic Development Agency, the South of Market Foundation (a planning non-profit), and the Alameda County Redevelopment Agency.  Since 2006, he has been transitioning to a more teaching-focused career and has studied industrial sites, experimentation with materials and modular sustainable construction.
