Paul de Greeff was educated in physical geography at the University of Victoria, and after spending a number of years in industry in BC, returned to UBC to complete his MLA. Upon completing his undergraduate degree, he worked as a mine reclamation planner in Northern BC where he was challenged with rebuilding vegetation systems in extremely harsh mountain environments. Paul also worked as a large scale container nursery manager growing native plants and gaining exposure to the landscape construction industry.

Paul is now a partner in a small, young landscape architecture office in Victoria, BC that specializes in site adaptive planning and design, rain water management and landscape restoration. His firm works extensively with local governments on integrating rain water and living systems into urban landscapes, and with private developers on integrating natural functions of sites with infrastructure.

Locally, Paul has volunteered with Emerging Green Builders in Victoria and with stream keepers groups on Vancouver Island. He also enjoys serving as a coach, board and committee member with a local soccer club. Paul has been involved with UBC SALA since 2003, helping run the Landscape Architecture Summer Field Studio since that time, and more recently, instructing the Landscape Structures and Materials seminar.
