LASA

The Landscape Architecture Student Associations (LASA) is a student government organization comprised of elected graduate students from the MLA and MASLA programs and focuses primarily on the improvement of student life in the Landscape Architecture program at UBC.  Through promotion of academic opportunities, interaction between students, faculty, and professionals, and contribution to administrative issues that affect student life in the school, LASA is an integral part of the Landscape Architecture graduate program.

Student Community

LASA works to encourage a sense of community by promoting formal and informal social events.  Due to the demanding nature of the academic program, it is important to achieve a balance by offering students a variety of social activities. Some of these events have become somewhat of a tradition within the program, and are integral to the calendar of events (described in section III). Furthermore, our close knit studio setting and shared work space reinforces the need for social interaction between years, and helps LASA promote a healthy working environment.
