ENVIRONMENT and URBAN FORM considers issues, principles and practices of environment and sustainability in the spatial elements and patterns of urban form. Course format integrates readings, lectures and case studies in twice weekly meetings. Readings and lectures link theory and practice, connecting knowledge of environment and planning (the words and numbers of research and policy) to urban design (the spatial attributes of the physical elements, patterns and systems of cities). A term project applies that content in a sustained case study of an urban form pattern.
