Current Instructor:

Expands the terms of the purposeful transformation of "place" to include modifications to the environment at the scale of the individual; concepts of dwelling and habitation; the human body as an instrument of measure, dimension and design of the private realm. The studio will explore design methodologies that engage logics of organization, materiality, assembly, and construction as a productive consideration for design. Ranging from the highly pragmatic to the highly speculative, the studio projects are grounded in the assumption that design is inherently a material practice, with making as the means through which to engage contemporary social, cultural, political, and economic practices within our society.
