TOPIC: Advanced Graphics for Landscape Architecture
Students will receive hands-on instruction with current techniques for representing landscapes. The course will focus on hand sketching, 2D + 3D computer rendering, how to effectively use both approaches together and physical modeling. The course will combine theoretical approaches to graphical presentation with practical exercises. Along with lectures and guest presenters, there will be instruction on presentation methods and critique culture. Emphasis will be placed on how to use the mediums to create effective presentation materials quickly. The course is intended to challenge the artistic abilities of each student. The course will consist of short lectures/presentations by the instructors and a series of focused 2 week long assignments. The majority of instruction will be individual, with the instructors working with students to help them learn how to represent landscapes using hand drawing and computer rendering techniques
Prerequisites: 2nd year MLA students, completion of LARC 535D (Advanced CAD workshop) and LARC 535B (Introduction to 3D Modeling) or permission of the instructors.
