The MASLA Program provides students holding a design degree the opportunity to research specific issues related to landscape, place, and environment. The research thesis requires students to review an area of knowledge within the broad field of landscape architecture in collaboration with a faculty member. In conducting the research for the thesis, the student may synthesize and apply existing literature in landscape architecture and related fields to reveal new processes, methods or outcomes related to different issues in the field. This synthesis may be presented in a written report and/or creative work. Alternatively the student may conduct new and original qualitative or quantitative research relating to landscape architecture.
