The premise of this class is to begin by looking at buildings as material facts.  Each week’s lecture will focus on a single building, attempting to use the specificity of that building, and its representations, as a point of access to a discussion of architectural ideas.  The class is team taught, with Architecture Faculty joining the class every other week for lectures.  Class assignments will revolve around short writing assignments describing architectural conditions in the city, and these assignments will be presented weekly in sections.
